Cracked Wheat Bread

2 T. dry yeast
3 C. thick-cooked cracked wheat (about 1 C. with 3 C. water)
3/4 C. warm water
3 T. shortening
1 T. salt
3 T. sugar
6 C.flour

Dissolve yeast in water. Mix warm cracked wheat, shortening, sugar, and salt together and mix well. Add flour and knead for 10 minutes. Let raise an hour or more and divide into tow large loaves. Cover and let raise until light. Bake at 375-400 for 50-60 minutes.
